    4550ci won't email all of a sudden, 1102 error

We had an IT guy contact us about this machine saying that it just stopped emailing and giving an 1102 error. We told him that is a log in error and he said all of the settings are the exact same as they were when it was working and the exact same settings as another machine they have that still does work. Firmware is latest version and he has checked all of the settings multiple times, even sent us screen shots and they all look correct but it still errors out with an 1102.

Anyone run into this and find some setting somewhere that needed to be changed?

    Thanks

Does the 4550ci support TLS1.2 or StartTLS? Seems most email providers are going this way and the 4550ci may not have these capabilities and may be causing the issue.

Not sure about TLS1.2 but it does support StartTLS, it is set now to use StartTLS and not working. After looking at a 3550ci we have at our office I do not see anywhere to set TLS1.2 so that might be the issue, I'll have them look into it. Thanks.

If the setting are there it will be under Security Setting. Microsoft has changed security setting again.

This model does not support TLS 1.2 We have upgrade to new models for customers because of this.

Yeah I looked this morning at a 3550ci and it didn't have TLS1.2, there IT department just confirmed they are using Microsoft365 for email and it uses TLS1.2 so I am going to tell them it will no longer email, sorry.

When MS changed to restricting devices to TLS1.2 they got a lot of push back. They subsequently created a legacy endpoint to allow the older equipment to work with 365. Their IT people will have to opt-in for this on the admin interface. The info is as follows:
To take advantage of this new endpoint, admins will have to:
                1. Set the AllowLegacyTLSClients parameter on the Set-TransportConfig cmdlet to True.
                2. Legacy clients and devices will need to be configured to submit using the new endpoint smtp-legacy.office365.com
                3. Opt-ins must be done by the end of February.

                Hope this helps.

I believe they can still setup a connector in O365 and it will still work
