[Misc] CS255/CS305 No print after maintance kit installed

Hello, I've worked on computers and networks for years, but I've never dabbled in copiers. So please be patient for my lack of understanding of terms and what may seen obvious to you. I appreciate any advice I can get and thank you.
I was given a CS-255 which I donated with the promise I'd try to fix what was wrong with it. A promise I wish I hadn't made. lol
It was leaving horizontal swirling streaks about every three inches on the print out. I looked the consumables over and the fuser roller looked like it was about to come apart and developing roller had a scratch on it. I opted to buy a Kyocera MK-477 Photoconductor Maintenance Kit 1702K37US0 which replaces much of which could go wrong in printing.
The good news is after installing the kit there's no more streak, the bad news is there's nothing printing at after after switching the parts out. The paper is blank. No sin of toner at all. The toner cartridge is still the same one being used when it was printing. I checked to see if there were tabs I had to pull or anything that didn't look right. I can find nothing. In the install manual, it shows going into the maintenance menu of the copier and pressing start after choosing an option. (I don't have the manual in from of me and can't remember the option at this moment. However, when I go to this section, that option is not available. I apologize I can't provide this information. I will look again tonight when I go back.
I figured the selection under maintenance was to reset counts. Maybe the new parts have to be initialized, but I can't find that option even using the web interface. Any ideas at all with this limited information?

Well, the DV-475 developing unit that you installed as part of the kit is probably empty. It will EVENTUALLY fill via the normal toner add process, but excruciatingly slowly. There were instructions in the box with the PM kit.

You see, the Matsuri uses monocomponent developing (mono-component = one-part = toner). It arrives to you empty, and the machine fills it with toner. Probably the simplest way to recover from where you're at is to CAREFULLY pour the toner from the old developing unit into the new developing unit. You don't have to get it all. The machine will make up the difference, you're just helping it along.

You'll also want to reset the PM counter Maintenance A (U251) to "0"

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thank you Black Cat. When I went back this evening, it was printing fine. I just didn't understand what was happening and didn't wait long enough. I still wouldn't have understood had you not explained it to me. I appreciate you responding.

I think what happened was that you skipped the part of the instructions where it tells you to go in the system menu and select "developer" form the service section(the proper menu item names escape me at the moment, it's 07:59 here). That would have caused the device to run a "fill" cycle on the new empty developer upon the first power-switch cycle, a step i have usually stumbled to remember lol! You definitely want to have a spare toner handy whenever performing a developer replacement on this model!

edit: the "swirl" and "scratch" might have just been hair caught in the developer blade. I am forever removing long hairs from these particular model design to resolve complaints or goes unnoticed.

Common on all monocomponent developing, the doctor blade gap is much narrower than dual component developing. So the doctor blade tends to snag up hairs, lumps of paper dust, and inconsistently large toner particles like you might get in aftermarket toner. Thanks sparky. =^..^=
