    TA8353ci Belt Initialize error 33

    Hey All,

I am getting error code 33 after performing a Belt Initialize U469 on a TA8353ci

Unfortunately the error code does not exist in the manual... anybody know what this means?

My thoughts are ID sensors but looking at the manual that only relates to error code 31&32

    Thanks

If you re-install the old belt unit, does it pass the initialization? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Hiya,

Unfortunately the old belt unit has a rip in it :/
Part of the reason I have replaced the belt unit, but it's failing belt initialize.

It's a bit poop that the error of 33 doesn't exist though so not a scooby of what it could be.
But the device is printing fine, colours are all good, it does an auto colour registration just fine, Toner curve etc....

But if you go to Calibrate on U140 or Belt initialize on U469 it fails with error 33

Turns out the manual I was using was 4 versions too old!

Error 33 exists on the newer version and it relates to the ID Sensor Solenoid getting stuck.

After a clean it was working once more

        Thanks

How easy is it to get to? Did it mean it's stuck open or closed?

It's fairly easy to get to, best if you take the conveying unit off so you got more room to play with.

The solenoid sits directly under the ID sensor Assy and to get to it you want to take out the Middle Feed unit, which is basically the unit that sits directly above the 1st paper feed unit. It comes out with 4 screws but you'll need to take a few covers off to find some of them

You will then see the solenoid with connects to an arm, this controls the ID sensor cover motion back and forth. In which my case it was not doing this and was causing the 33 error to occur upon belt initialize. I was lucky enough to just give it a clean and it work again, but that arm looks rather weak, I can imagine it could easily break away from the solenoid and cause the same issue.
