    M2035 Cassette1 not loaded

I suddenly got this message. It was working fine for me one minute and the next, this message. I have checked the tray lift springs and latch. The tray is unlatching and popping up like it should. The flag is in place and functioning properly. Did I suddenly have the photointerrupter go bad? I can see nothing wrong with this. I appreciate any help offered. Thanks.

There is a tiny little white switch on the left side where the tray slides in & makes contact with the switch, make sure its there & not stuck or broken.

Also make sure the tray latches in all the way, push on the front to see if the message goes away.

This seems to have fixed the problem. It must have been stuck. Original problem, same machine jams anytime it tries to duplex. It feeds the paper through the exit slot and back in but it jams at Middle Pulley B and DU roller in the duplex section. My guess is DUSOL is not functioning. Is it possible to run the machine and test for signal without covers on? This is farther than I have been in one of these.

        Thanks,
        Doug

Good chance the duplex drive gear is broken it will break right off the shaft its a common issue with these guys.

I pulled the cover off of the copier to see the gear train and when I turn the drive motor the duplex roller turns. The paper stops right at the duplex rollers like it ran into them. The paper does buckle where it leaves the fuser to go down into the duplex area. I leaves two little witness marks on the leadding edge of the paper like it hit the duplex rollers but they seem to be connected and turning. They are turning with the motor turning. If after it jams I move the motor forward, it pulls the paper through the duplex. I can't see anything blocking the paper path. I thought they must have torn a piece of paper in there but I don't see anything. Thanks for your help.
