    Utax 1060

Intermittent jams from tray 1, giving jam code 10 and 32. Nothing visible, machine has 200k on the clock, also pf unit seems to be making a funny noise when doing more than 5 copies!!!!

man, they still look soo stupid in white. aren't they supposed to come out in regular black now after Kyo bought utax/ta?

anyway: clean or change pick-up roller as it's worn, and check if sep is worn flat also. usually happens around 150-250. strange noise is prob. machine trying to feed multiple times. think it tries 5 times before going into jamcode. pick up roller is crap on these, we tried the old grey ones from 4530-5530. they didn't wear, but they seemed to not have the right friction on the sheets, so no good solution. best we've come up with is to add additional weight to the existing bar that's already there. get almost 350 out of them then. real mistake to abandon vaccumfeed belts like the 6330-7530. side deck still has that, but that's an expencieve solution.

Thanks, I tried your suggestion of extra weight- to no avail. The damn thing still misfeeds, particularly from deck 1. The rolloers are clean and not worn. The funny noise seems to be mechanical, but as you know you can't observe the paper feed in operation on these beasts. It's a strange one alright- we've 25 or 30 of these things out there and not a problem with any of them except the sensors behind the right hand door keep dislodging,(another super glue moment).Does anybody out there have any experience of these machines?????
