    Capture Print Job

    Good afternoon!

I'm a (mostly) Ricoh tech, and I need to capture a print job at a particular customer in order to make an analysis.

Problem is the print job is generated off-site, so there's no chance of capturing the job on the computer.

On the Ricoh machines, we have the possibility of configuring the machine to save the job to an SD Card.

Is it possible to do on a Kyocera machine (I think it is a 9530)? Or, if not, is there any other procedure you can think of that can be done to this end?

    Thank you in advance.

Not sure on that model but I have captured the print job on the mono desktops, use U977 to redirect the input to a usb drive.

If it is a 9530dn printer then you would be able to capture print data directly from the machine, but it would require a CF card in the printer. The procedure is found in the Advance Operation guide for that printer.

I have a file with that information. It goes like this:

Insert the CF card in the machine.
Send the PreScribe command to format the card.
Remove the CF card from the machine & install it in a card reader connected to your PC. Replace the file named PRE created during the format with the PRE file in my documentation.
Insert the CF card in the machine.
From the print menu, Start the CF card.

At this point, all print jobs will be stored as files until the card is full.

Stop the CF card from the print menu.
Connect the CF card to your card reader to view print data.
The resulting print data will populate as .prn files, and can be viewed in an application like Textpad or XVI32 Hex editor

Send me a private message, and I'll send you the files. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
