    Barcode Kyocera PA4500X

    Hello,

At our customer site we have replaced a ecosys P3045DN with the kyocera ecosys PA4500X. In the "old" P3045DN they have a barcode module (see image, left SD-card). We have been told that the same card can be used in the PA4500X to print barcodes. When this is done no barcode is printed on the document.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Regards,

    Ramon

That only works if the barcode is not part of a larger document. Several of my lawyer customers use barcodes for tracking cases.

Are you using the original Kyocera barcode SD or are you trying to use a copy? Put the original barcode font card in the printer, power it on and then print the font list to see if the barcode fonts show on the list. If they do not then it appears that the printer is not reading the font card at power on. If the barcode fonts show on the list but they are not printing with the job as desired then they are likely not being called properly. Since you say this worked with the old printer, if you have not deleted any of the old drivers or settings, place the PA4500X on the network with the same IP address as the printer that was working (make sure to disconnect if from the network) and see if the barcode prints correctly.

Thanks for all your reply. I have read the attachment from "PrintWhisperer". I see a lot off ecosys models but i don't see the PA4500X in the list. Are you sure this has to be done for this model as well?

            Regards,

            Ramon

Yes. This solution is supported by (written in) Prescribe, Kyocera's embedded Print Command language which is common to all devices. The guide is posted on the PA4500x support page.

The document has not been updated for recent new models, this is common for 'obscure' solution documentation.
