Things to check for sure: Connection type (if network, see if data is transmitted properly). Driver config. Software they are printing from (for example, Foxit PDF always prints PDFs better and faster to HP printers than Adobe Reader and is recommended by HP). Check if silent mode isn't enabled.

Next thing to do: load the file that takes too long to print from PC on USB drive. Connect USB drive to printer and print directly. If printing goes okay without delays, then You know printer is just fine and they should start inspecting network / computers.

Once I had similar problem. Turned out I was using Sumatra PDF for printing PDF documents. Don't know why, but 50 pages document was printed as if every page was separate document.

    A few thoughts.
If there are pauses during printing, it is usually for two reasons:
The printer does not have time to feed the toner to the developer this is what what copiertec is talking about.
The second option, the printer prints faster than the computer spools the print job. You should observe how quickly the print job is sent from the computer to the printer. This is affected by job size, driver, network settings and speeds, etc.

    You'll have to dig deeper.

p.s. I had a case in a folow-me environment where the shared print queue driver was from a slower machine and the printer was printing slower than it could according to it's PPM.

But what if it is OEM?

A lot of "what if's". It's either yes or no, but I will tell you we had a client switch their P6030cdn's from OEM to aftermarket toners and all of the printers would say "adding toner" constantly, it did not matter if it was 1 print or 300 prints, they constantly said "adding toner." Eventually after about serval months they started to blow though developing units and more service calls. Client switched back to OEM toners and all the above problems went away. Are they using the latest KX driver over a secure wired network? Is the firmware up to date? None of this will matter if they are not using OEM toners.

Sorry, I don't know. I wasn't there. Only talked to customer on phone.

    Is this device wifi?

What are they printing when they do this big job? PDF?

    Is the firmware current?

What driver are they using? The KX driver (fairly resent version)? The POS WSD driver from Microsoft?

    Inquiring minds what to know.

Check if any weight settings have been changed on the printer or computer greater than 75gr.

P3045 has become slow when printing

    Dear colleagues,

a customer told me that his P3045 has become so slow.
He prints about 300 pages at once and now it takes twice as long.
    Longer pauses between the pages.
Printer is 5 1/2 years old.
    Does anyone know this phenomenon?
    Thank you.
