    Help with Kyocera menu structure/capabilities

Hello to all and thank you in advance for any suggestions.
I am an experienced HP tech, but unfortunately our major client has decided that HP is too expensive/unreliable/or who knows what and it was out of our control that they are switching.
Considering that Krapocera, oops, Kyocera is considered a "dealer only" product, support is much much more difficult.
Any experienced Ecosys P3xxx techs on here that can help with some confusion on what you may consider "stupid" questions?

    best regards,
    brent

I would say that there is no such thing as a stupid question ... well anyway, what are your questions? =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Help with Kyocera menu structure/capabilities

Thank you sir for the quick response.
The first thing that I've been searching for online and in the manual was SUPER easy on an HP.
In the menu, #10 Adjust/Maint - 03 Service Setting - 03 Test page: only prints 1 page from the default tray.
How can I choose which of the 3 trays to use (MP or cassette) and to print more than one page?
(intermittent's sometime require 20 pages or more).

      thanks again,
      brent

For test pages, or for all prints, or for all copies?

If you're just talking about the test copies, on the 6th Generation you would simply enter the Menu > [Adjust/Maint.] > OK > [Service Setting] > OK > [Service Status] > then OK to print the Service Status Page. In that same menu you can get the half-tone page and Event Log. The Event Log is the most useful by far. Some of these reports are multiple pages. You'll get one set each time. Run the reports as many times as you like. No, you can not select the number of consecutive reports you want.

Hello, I have finally gathered some more information. I have run into 2 p3145's, one with FW Version 2TP_S000.003.071 2019.05.08
It acts as you explain, only a choice of 1 page, have to keep entering the menu to get numerous pages.
BUT another p3145 with FW Version 2TP_S000.003.702 2021.06.11 - It HAS an extra option (10 - 03- 13 - forgot what it's called, didn't save the menu report, maybe print chart?) to choose the tray/duplex/ and number of copies up to 999.
So, since these are considered dealer only and my support vendor is certified "copy star", how do I get firmware?
I've searched and searched, and they have no idea.
Which is odd, since searching for Copystar, they are now part of Kyocera as of June of '23. They stated they are in a gray area for Kyocera, so what now?
          Any help is GREATLY appreciated...
          best regards, brent

<Haven't run into any p3045 models to discover anything similar to this>

I'm sure someone here could find firmware for you. Kyocera and Copystar use the same firmware. It's the same.

There is another simple solution. Most MFP's are capable of printing from USB. So you could load a PDF file to a USB stick, then set a quantity, and print.
You might use a standard test chart, like this:
            Attached Files
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

That could be because this is not the correct forum to ask for it.

Well Thank You kindly slimslob, but I'm in the Technical forums for Kyocera/Utax/Copystar.
FW isn't parts, manuals, connectivity, or software.
Where then would be the right place to ask?
I've searched for Firmware; most posts are in the technical forum for the model in question.
                  best regards,
                  b

Actually you can put a request in one of three forums, https://www.copytechnet.com/forum/te...anual-requests https://www.copytechnet.com/forum/te...rade-or-wanted https://www.copytechnet.com/forum/te...the-parts-room

You still might not find a technician willing to risk getting fired for sharing proprietary information.

More than likely Kyocera has on their customer download page a software similar to Ricoh's firmware update tool that will allow you as a customer to update your own machines.
