Question aboute differences in a page counters

Hello, I have a question that maybe some of you guys can help me with. Why is there a difference in page counters between the service status page/event log and the user status page? Sometimes the difference is quite significant. For example, I have a P3145dn printer, and the user status page shows a total of 74,500 printouts, but the event log shows more than 105,000 printed pages.

see Kyocera America Explanation from 2011
On Event log and all other reports you see real life counts.
e.g. uneven pages by duplex/ blank pages are counted in life count, not counted in total count.
    Total count based on developing.
Payment/ bill in case of toner on paper only, easy explained
