    Olivetti d-Copia 400 MF= KM 4050 with ADF700

    Hello,

we have a customer who has many copier: Olivetti d- Copia 400 MF = KM 4050 with ADF 700

Two of them are making problems: The text of the copies are showing after 12-14 mm (front view) a squeeze. The letters are squeezed together over the whole page. It looks like the letters and numbers were squeezed together from top to bottom to one line.

It doesn't matter if I feed the paper lengthways or transverse to the DF 700. The customers are only feeding via installed DF 700. The error occurs every time , no matter which paper -tray is used.

The first copier is 8 month old and copied 20000 pages. The other copier is 2.5 years old and copied 410000 pages. Both are using the newest firmware.

We also have used 2 new DF 700, but it doesn't help.

The error does not occur when copy over the glass panel and not when printing. Only when the paper feeding via DF 700 is used.

    Who can help?

Thank you very much in advance,

    Momtrix

    P.S.
I would also be happy to get help in German, as my English is not verry good.

Unfortunately I got no answer so far

I have made two scans of the "problem", maybe you can help if you see an example.

I would be really happy to get any hint to solve this problem.

Thank you very much in advance,

Had the same problem with a DP-700, I tried replacing just about everything and nothing worked except replacing the feeder, but it looks like you may have done that with no success. A tech from D-Net sent me a bulletin from KM Europe which describes this problem and the fix, installing mylars to the entrance guide of the feeder, unfortunately for me the bulletin arrived the day after I replaced the feeder with a new one, which by the way did not have these mylars installed from the factory.

make sure the slit glass (the smaller one) and the plastic seperating it from the document glass is clean. sounds like there is something on it slowing down the progress of the paper thru the DP.

does it make good copies off of the big glass?

(btw, your English is better than my Deutsch)

My issue was blank or all gray pages when scanning off main glass or would jam in DP. On the second scanner connection sometimes the pins on the male side get bent and touch each other, shorting the print controller out. I realized my issue with this after replacing the DP 700 and nearly every circuit board in my KM 3050. Make sure to update firmware after replacing print board and also make sure DIMMs are not old style (yellow dots or wording on them). Good luck!
