    FS-9530

i preface this question with that fact i havent been to this machine to look this particular issue yet...its a 2.5 hour drive and want to have some idea of what to look for.

this will print duplex for all file types with the exception of pdf files. anything i should look for as to why it wont print pdf in duplex?

    thanks in advance.

    duplex print issue..

i would check the settings of the print driver to see if it configured the installed options correctly.... make sure it knows it has a duplex unit installed... make sure the emulation is pcl xl. the new driver has a autoconfigure option for installed componants also... run it. if it all fails, update the firmware and check if the machine has enough memory to process pdf's... but in my opinion, it will be an issue with the print driver, nothing mechanical...

The option to duplex should be there automatically since this is a standard feature. Does the hypothetical 10 page pdf document print 10 single sided pages or does it only print the first page and stop, or just print the first page with garbage on the rear side? Is the customer using the KX driver? Use the KPDL emulation with the "Allow Data Passthrough" box unchecked.

        Driver

I agree with youngblood. The duplex is standard, so there should be no configuration issues here.

My guess, is that some genuis installed an HP LJ4 print driver (or something similar). Since an HP LJ4 cannot duplex it won't offer duplex functionality.

I had something similar in which a CS-C4035E would not print in color. Especially when you send the print jobs through a HP LJ5si PCL 5e driver! Not only does an HP LJ5si not have color functionality, but the 5e driver is for monochome. The 5c driver is for color. Thanks, IT specialist!

And don't forget to bill them if this is the case. =^..^=
