KM-4530 Z fold

Have a 4530 that z fold only on duplex, runs single sides find have change out the duplexer, transport section and transfer corona but no luck .

Is the Z fold occurring at the registration roller? If so, there is a separate adjustment in U51 for duplex copying. You might want to check that. Really need more info than (It is z folding when duplexing)

have try the 51 adjustments to no luck it is making about a third of a copy and will fold down into the tansfer corona only on the second side out.

if u51 dosent work you might want to try the reg clutch...

Is paper curl an issue or maybe separation? Don't remember if there is a separate transfer voltage for duplex, might check and see.

Have you replaced the reg and pre-reg clutches???

possible solutions

Problem: intermittent jams every 7 copies with z fold before reg roller
Solution: try spaying LPS cleaner in Deck Drive clutch pack Part #50 page 42 parts list
2AC06240 Clutch Paper Feed x 2 suspect
if no change clutches #28 and #29 are suspect page 42 parts list
replace 2BC27630 CLUTCH 34 FEED
2AC06230 CLUTCH REG
and gears that are driven by motor if mileage over 1.5 million

Problem: intermittent jams in duplex
Solution: case #1: clean every rubber roller in duplex and clean all clutches in duplex
also worn rollers in deck conveying can cause jams in duplex only when #4 cass used
replace 2BC07390 RIGHT ROLLER DECK CONV
2BC07400 LEFT ROLLER DECK CONV
2AC06240 CLUTCH PF ( both mag clutches )
also rebuild #4 paper feed

case #2: SOLENOID STOPPER 18327130 becomes magnetized and duplex jams at
the white rollers intermittently occur

I actually fixed one today.. It was the registration clutch...Didn't have new one, so I diassembled clutch, cleaned inside and out with q tip and alchohol and cleaned clutch shaft... 1 sided ok.....2 sided z folded...fixed
