    cd 1060 Utax

This machine will not recognise cassette 1. When the machine is first swithched on it does see it but if you open the drawer and close it again the m/c fails to see it. I've reset it using 906 simulation and also swapped the sensors with cassette 2 to no avail. Then i have to reset it again and the m/c works fine. it's only when I open and close cassette 1 that the problem occurs, any ideas please

Maybe try initialize the HD and try firmware upgrade.

It sounds like the plug on the back of the machine where the cassette plugs into.

There is no plug, just 4 sensors and a drive spindle

Does anyone know what Copystar or Kyocera Mita this cross-references to? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Are both cassettes and pick up assemblies the same like on the 50ppm machine?? If so did you try swapping them to see does the problem switch to the second cassette??

I have seen this before if it is indeed a 6030 and it is usually the connector that you unplug to change the feed tires, check that connector to make sure there are no wires pinched and it is plugged in all the way.

If it's built like the KM-6030, feed units #3 & #4 are interchangable. Feed units #1 & #2 are similar but definitely unique, in no way interchangable.

The thing I've seen most often is paper jammed into the lift coupler and electrical connector. =^..^=

This problem turned out to be the middle sensor of the 3 paper height sensors, not working and it takes out all sensors for that cassette. We had another m/c and we swapped the home position sensors and the pwb's to no avail. Then discovered the middle sensor was shot- what a pain and waste of time- but at least it' sorted.
