DF 710 error

i'm getting a 8210 (staple motor error). i replaced the entire staple cartridge unit and still get the error.

any ideas?

Check the wiring harness...

thanks, just got back to the office and i had looked at the one at the stapler, but like a dummy didnt check the other end of it.

Yea, the harness hits the frame on rear side shorting it out. New models have rounded frame in that area.

is it being cut by the frame or pulled out of the connector on the backside?

It would be kinda hard to determine that without looking at the machine...

ok, i've replaced the ribbon cable.

i can get it to staple single position all day long, but when i go to dual staple, i get two staples about 3 inches apart and then the 8210 code again. it will also misfeed on the first set.

help!!!!! lol
