    km-2525

    Multiple problems

    1. "reset originals in doc feeder" on display

    2. c0640 - hdd error

    3. Can't access the scanner functions e.g. scan to email etc

I've checked the doc feed sensors and ran in sim mode. Tried the whole document feeder on another machine and it works fine.

I have today replaced the Hdd with a brand new one

I have put the scanner board onto another working machine and the scanner function works.

I can now only presume that the main pwb is faulty - i couldn't swap that as the other machine i was using was a 2525e - yes i tried

If you run 906 it resets the scanner but throws up the c0640, i can't format the hdd either in 024.

I replaced the hdd behind the main board/scanner card not the optional one by the print controller board.

I'm back tomorow with hopefully a main board from a donor machine to try.

Try a u20 (initialize all memory) then a 906 then a 24 or a scandisk and see how that works. AlsoI know it's a bit silly but make sure the jumpers on the new hdd are set the same as the old one.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

Personally I think the optional hard drive is what you need. That would account for the lack of scanner functions, HDD error, and DP loss of function. You can try the U024 & U020. You might get lucky.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The customer has the m/c's all set up for a server in germany (global car maker) so every m/c can scan to email, print server goes through germany then back to the m/c. They dont have the optional hard drive on any of the 3 current 2525 m/c's. I'm reluctant to try a reset on the memory but i might have to if i cant get hold of a main board to try.

I made sure the jumpers were set correctly - again the other m/c had the same hdd so i just copied the jumper setting.

As i said i'm back today to try something else so i'll post back.

Ok - m/c is now working again.

Result, faulty HDD received from kyocera. Brand new Hdd but didn't work, m/c was seeing the hdd but you coudn't format it. Put an old hdd on from a another m/c to try and it worked fine.
