    KM-3060

    We have a brand new out of the box KM-3060 that is producing distorted image on 11 x 17 pages about two inches up from the trail edge. It is really consistent about this. We had to pull this machine immediately back in from customer location.

    Already replace all the major image components w\so we are pulling our hair out now.

    I am going to try to attach a scan of the effect so you can see but in any case what do you think?

    I am assuming that the first scan is an U089 self print. If so, that rules out the scanner.

    I suspect a fuser roller or fuser speed problem. If the fuser is turning slower than the drum and registration roller, or misaligned, it would not affect letter prints but longer pages would experience an increasing buckle or twist, which would release when the paper let go of the registration rollers. The release would shift the paper blurring the image, especially at the edges. The distance of the artifact to the trailing edge would remain the same (the distance between the bite of the registration rollers and the transfer point of the drum).

    I'd start by tweaking the fuser speed slower. Then re-shim the fuser at the front, by trial & error to see if you can get an improvement.

    If you made the problem only worse, return to the original settings, then look at the alignment and/or spring tension of the reg rollers and transfer roller. The right door may be poorly aligned.

        Losing control of dipstick!!

        Really need to know if anyone else has had this issue with this machine.

        We are trying to avoid calling our tech rep cause he drives a UFO.

        Seriously you service manager types please give this a look see.

          It wound up being the engine board. It was letting the paper drag on the fuser guides somehow. Anyway that fixed it.
