    df-71 finisher jamming helppp

i have a finisher that is jamming in the conveying area. the jam code is j-83. its running along and when it jams the paper stack in the conveying area is there and the jam occurs because the piece of paper that jams is curled up like it didnt make it to the stack. it caught on the stack that was forming. as if yall couldnt tell ive been out of copier service for quite some time and am getting back into it. we have a small company and nearly all my training is in the field. so im gonna rely on you fellas to help me along the way. any help is greatly appreciated and if any of you doesnt mind me emailing you or calling you from time to time out of business hours of couse, that would be cool too. thanks in advance for the help. take care

check the spring that pulls down the "hold fingers". there is a spring on the back-side of those fingers. occassionally these will break.

just behind main tray, inside finisher. quick test is to turn machine on/off/on and observe if those 'set hold fingers' move at all. if not, alias they're stuck in upper position, the spring on the solenoid is broken.

Also if you have a high count on that system you will want to check the rollers that actually jog the pages into the stack. They are unusual in that they have a very thin layer of material that is the contact surface and when that wears out, it will misfeed like that but not unless you have a stack of about 10 or so.
