    km 5050 fax problem

Hi all I'm having a problem on a km5050 regarding the fax.A message appeared on screen asking for A4r to be added to tray 1 in order for a fax to be printed even when A4r is in the tray.I cannot delete the job from the status screen. If I try it tells me fax job cannot be deleted. So far I have upgraded the firmware including the fax firmware to the lates level.I formatted the hard drive. This deleted the job and I was able to send a fax from the 5050 but i could not receive faxes.I removed the fax card and inserted it into another km5050.The faxes that were sent to the original km5050 came through. At the moment I am planning on changing the Hard drive.Has anybody seen this problem or have any ideas where to go next.
    Thanks

Maybe a silly question, but have you tried to print the faxes from a different tray by changing the fax default settings to see if it is related to the current tray?

In my experience that's not how it works on the Falcon III. The fax function is defaulted and unchangeable at auto paper select, so faxes will print off on whatever paper is available and what is the closest match. There is a table in the manual designating which paper is the closest match and in what order paper sizes are chosen.

This came up when my own office people came to me to say that when letter paper runs out, the faxes will print out on legal or ledger or whatever happens to be in the machine, and does not give a "Load Paper" indication. The answer to that, is to designate a special media type like "colored", then specify that faxes must print onto the special media type "colored". When the "colored" tray runs out and faxes are ready to be printed, a "Load Colored Paper" indication is displayed.

This is just a long way of saying that your problem does not have anything to do with the presence or absence of a specific paper size. Faxes always auto paper select to any paper loaded, and are enlarged or reduced to fit. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          fax problem easy fix

Have run into this so read as follows fax guide page 7-9
          Reduced Reception
When the reception size is larger than the paper size, you can reduce the
          print size.
1 Press the System Menu key.
2 Press [FAX/i-FAX], [Next] of Reception, [Next] of Basic, and [Change] of
          Reduced RX Size.
          3 Select [Off] or [On].
          4 Press [OK].
5 To exit from this setup, press [Close] several times until the System Menu
          default screen is displayed.
          ItemDescription
Off Print the received data at 100% of the original size by
dividing it into several sheets of paper.
On Print the received data by reducing the original size
          according to the paper size.
          Status

Thanks all for your feed back.I had checked the papre sizes and trays before I formatted the hard drive. That was my first idea.It turned out to be the main controller. As i said when I formatted the drive the message was deleted but reapeared when the fax received an incoming fax.It was not just when receiveing from the one sender it was from any sender.

              Re: km 5050 fax problem

I am having the same problem on a KM 3060. A junk fax job is trying to print and I cannot delete it. This is beyond frustration! I posted a new thread but have received no response yet ... Tried command work center and did not work. I tried to even print that job although it's a junk manual (hate those spammers lol) but could not succeed, no matter what fax settings I use and no matter what paper source I send it to. The print comes 3/4 out and gives me a jam code depending on the tray I redirect the received faxes .... I tried the SM 600 and 601 but I guess I have to try it with the front door open .... it's stuck somewhere in my memory that the open door does the trick .... I thought I liked Kyoceras .... but I guess they are copiers too so what's new? Sorry guys for my rant ... lol will try to have a nice day and will post back if I solve this issue once and for all. Cheers!

                Re: km 5050 fax problem

Make sure that all you're paper sources are designated as auto paper size detect. The machine will not print faxes from any paper source designated with a hard setting of paper size.

                As second choice:
"Load Paper Tray #1" when paper is full. When attempt is made to cancel the offending document from the Status screen "Cannot cancel fax or ifax receptions." is displayed. When Fax System (M) is removed message disappears, all but fax is restored. Corrupt fax reception is stuck in memory. Export user data to USB in sim U917. Note destination (66), SMTP, and IP address. Run Data Clear U022. The offending document will be printed. Re-enter data and import U917 data.

                =^..^=
