    KM-1650 problem

I have a KM-1650 in the field with a problem. When copying from the document processor, and only from the document processor, there is a line about 1 inch wide down the center of the page (vertically) that is paler/lighter than the rest.

Since it doesn't appear from the contact glass, it has me a bit confused.

I have cleaned all glass and mirrors, shading plate, etc...and replacing the DP changed nothing...any ideas?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I had this problem on a 2550, what I was told to do by one of the Kyocera tech reps was to clean the mirrors with water, as some of the grease used and ozone are only water soluable. I cleaned the mirror with water then rubbing alcohol and the problem went away.

The light areas that you describe are usually caused by dirty areas of the white reference.

You say you cleaned the shading plate. Are you sure its clean?

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Guess I will try cleaning everything again...

Does the fact that it only does it from the DP give you any clue as to what I should focus on?

        Thanks.
