    KM 3232 address book

Is there a way to back up the address book? I see something in the service mode about it, but when I hit the start key it does nothing. Can someone give me a walk threw?
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

Which address book do you want to backup, from Scanner or from Fax?

Scanner addresses, they have a lot.

The scanned will stop working here abd there, I was going to repace the HD to fix it. If you go in and do a "faulty device reset" it will work again for a while.

So the answer to your original question is :
you should download and install KM Scanner Address Editor and save your addresses to disk with this software. You can download it from the KM-site.

About the scanner not working : Did you check cables, ip-settings, ... to see if there is a network problem? Does it give a code when it stops working?

Can I get that software from there PUBLIC web site (I have no login info for them)

I haven't seen a code when it stops working. The only thing I've seen is the amber light next to the scan button lite and when you hit the scan button it just beeps.

Yes, software is on the public site, under Application :

KYOCERA MITA | ServiceWorld | Download Center - laserprinter, printer, copier, multifunctionals#

Could also be a defecrtive scanner module ... still strange it does not give any error message.

Thanks for the link, I'm going to try and head out there tomorrow.

I agree with Sknoops. If using "Reset disabled function mode" gets it working, you have a defective Scanner NIC board. Have you checked the C-codes? Specifically C0250. Changing the HDD won't buy you anything, unless all the customer does is scan to the HDD. Before changing an HDD I would try to reformat it.

I was planning on trying the "formating" option, but I wanted to back up the address book first. It's got at least 20 addresses in it.
