    KM-3035 Touchscreen Problems

    Hi All,
Been having some major problems with one of our KM3035 units. The touchscreen seems to be uncalibrated, mainly on the right hand side of the screen, by that i mean, if you go to press any buttons the touch registers about an inch or so below where you actually touched on the screen, if any button is at the top of the panel then we struggle to activate a touch event on it.

    My question is
    a) Can we somehow recalibrate the touch pad? If so any pointers?
    b) If touchscreen is faulty, can we replace the ?overlay? or is it a whole unit including lcd?
    c) Any other suggestions to why it is causing us sooo much hassle.

    Thanks in advance

Looks like if you enter maintenance mode and perform a U201 that could correct the x and y-axis. Not too much experience with this device but from the manual stats: the Purpose of this is To Automatically correct the display positions on the touch panel after it is replaced.

I know you have not yet replaced the panel but maybe this will calibrate it back.

Hi I had a problem like this recently on the 3035.The calibration didn't fix it for me. What I found was a slight build up of residue on the under side of the display.I completely stripped the display ,screen ,buttons and touch panel and cleaned. When I was finished I calibrated the panel and it worked fine.Hope this may be of help if you are still having issues.

Go into Maintenance Mode 201. You'll see an X appear on the screen. Touch it. Then you'll see another X in an other sport. Touch that and so on.

Calibrating the screen hasnt helped, will look to trying to strip the overlay which im sure is the fault, is it easy enough to remove from lcd assy? also service manual doesnt give any part nos for overlay, in troubleshooting though it does say a resolution for simialr fault is to replace overlay. Does any have a part number. It looks like a 4-wire resistive touch.
