    C4200 error code on 6030

I had a C4200 error on a 6030 and replaced the Laser which seemed to fix the problem... only time will tell
for sure but when I got back to the office I was looking to see if there where any Tech Bulletins on it and I see that there was but it is not posted anymore? I sent an email to the manufacturer tech specialist but I was wondering if anyone else has seen the bulletin or has any ideas as these Laser units are over $1300!
    Ouch!

There were three levels of firmware after v. 3.52 that caused C4200 codes. I've read about cases of bad ribbon cables to the laser, and bad lasers. Also cases of re-routing the ribbon cable (I'm assuming these are cases of induced current in the ribbon cable due to proximity to another harness). I hope that you solved the problem. These kind of issues can be extremely intermittent. The last two levels of firmware a clear of bugs as far as I know. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks for the info! I will check our service history to make sure
that we have not done any firmware updates lately.
Unfortunately I think it was just a bad laser because it was
      throwing the code every copy
or two before I changed out the laser and quit as soon as I did
and ran fine but time will tell. I was actually hoping that the bulletin
said something about Kyocera covering any failed lasers under warranty!
A guy can always dream! Lol

Ok, I don't always look in the knowledge base because if you don't put in just the right word it always comes back with nothing found! I will check that out. Thanks!

It came back on Monday morning so I updated the firmware and checked the transfer grounding issue but it already had that update. After updating the firmware it seemed to be running fine but I also ordered an updated wiring harness for the LSU that was also in the Q/A's. Well see how it goes!

Two out of three of those buggy firmware levels are 3.60 and 3.62. I never downloaded the third so I don't know about the last one. =^..^=

I've run into this, we tried several fixes including different firmwares. Ended up being the wire needing to be redone. Here is the bulletin for that cause yes... it is a PAIN to locate those tech bulletins.
It says not to worry about removing the existing cable but I did just to make it easier to put everything back together, easiest way is to cut the cable around the first turn and pull both ends out their respective sides.
Installed the kit (numbers are on the bulletin) and haven't had a problem since.
                Hope this helps!

had this twice and found a ferrite core and fwu did the trick.

Looks like the new firmware fixed my problem! I had ordered the new wiring harness but since I updated the firmware no more problems so I am just going to hold on to the new wiring harnesss just in case!
