    KM5050 Web interface username and password

    Hi all,
    My last job today was at a KM5050 not emailing. This is not a big deal untill I try to access the web interface and have no troubles connecting untill I try to access anything but the first page. I am presented with what looks like a windows name and password box. Of course their IT was less than helpfull in providinga name and password claiming they never setup any security on the web page - bullshit because I certainly didn't.
    Anyway I do remember having to reset an 8030 a couple of years ago for this problem but of course cannot remember what I did.
    If anyone knows how to reset the interface I would love to know.
    Cheers.

    The only way that message comes up is if authentication is turned on. To turn it off go to the machine, put in 5000 in both the user and password, then hit 'system settings' button, press the 'logon / authentication' button and turn off authenticaton. You shouldn't need a password on the web interface anymore.

      I have to disagree with you, neafie. The web interface can have a username and password set up. I had this exact situation on a TASKalfa, where the IT guy forgot his username and password. After nearly forty five minutes he gave up guessing and let me reset it. This is the PreScribe command: !R! ACNT "REST";EXIT;

      You can send this command to the printer via KM-Net Viewer or LPR Jar (just Google it). If you need more details please PM.
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

            Cool
            Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.
