    KM-C2525e Printer HD-ME5, can I convert an HD-ME4?

Boss sold a used C2525e to a customer that asked specifically for secure print capability. eMPS options are greyed out of the driver w/o the optional ME5 printer HD. He says no way he is spending $400 to fix for what he sold it for. I have a defective HD-ME4 that I was going to try and buy a used 20GB laptop drive to fix. I am thinking maybe I could screw a 40GB drive to that badboy and have it work as a HD-ME5? Any experience shared would be appreciated

The original HD-ME5 had a 40GB hard drive. Nowadays, if you buy an HD-ME5 you'll get an 80GB hard drive of which 40 GB is accessible. I doubt that the HD-ME4 interface board will be compatible.

But now I'm curious. I'll be watching this thread. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
