    KM-1820 Kyocera Copier Power Up

    Hi all,

Just need some help regarding KM 1820. When power is switched on the display shows the usual KYOCERA name but instead of continuing with the power start up routine, only about three bars are indicated in the display and it stays there and does not continue anymore. I tried power off then on. I tried power up with front door open then close it. All the same, the power up routine does not continue, displays freezes with KYOCERA name and about three bars. Please kindly assist.

    thanks all,

    BGG

If it isn't completing boot up, I'd start by reloading/upgrading firmware. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks. I just went through the service manual about upgrading firmware. Where is the firmware available? Is it something I can download from the internet? Kindly advise.

The firmware is only available to authorized Kyocera & Copystar dealers on their website, i.e. not for public download.

Turn off machine, open top cover, then turn back on ,Press 'system menu/counter' key, select 'service setting', then while pressing 'start' and '#', press 'enter'. Select 'Maintenance mode', then press 'enter'. Enter '163' using the up/down keys, then press 'enter'. Turn machine off to exit Maintenance mode.
