    Firmware Upgrades

    Hi All

Is there any particular make or size of USB stick that is best to upgrade the firmware with. Sone of ours will some won't, even the Kyocera one's given to us by Kyocera UK, are bit on and off. Or is there something you need to do to the stick before loading the firmware?

    Cheers

Keep the size down to 2gb or less although I have seen up to 4gb work, I use Kingston without any problem. We had some free sticks from Kyocera Uk that lasted all of 5min, I suppose thats why they were free.
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

On the ones that still take compact flash, I use that. The TASKalfa and CS-420i take USB, and yes, 2GB or less works best. The current firmware is only 112MB. Why would you need more capacity?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The only thing i do is format on the PC in "FAT" before copying the files over, not had a problem so far using a 1gb stick.
I also use CF card where possible.

I have only used Sandisk and have had no problems at all. I normally use a 4GB for firmware updates. The only thing is that you have to remove the U3 software partition or else it won't be recognized.
