Re: where can i download "LPR jar utility"
Right here sir:
Malware scan of PrinterUtility.exe (Star Micronics Device Software) 55a080a4641e6aa68a92487ad71ebedce3504837 - herdProtect
It's still untested, so use care. =^..^=
I don't understand the file download description : "reason-core-security-setup.exe."
My Virus scan check the downloaded file all ok....
What is the MD5 on your end.
If your using the iTToobox there is a button in the SOFTWARE tray call HASH FILE: you can run SHA1 , MD5 etc test with that function.
You can move the Hashfile.exe app out of the software and run in from command prompt. Let me know if theres any bugs with it.

Re: where can i download "LPR jar utility"
The executable is about 4MB, but that doesn't necessarily tell you how much more will be downloaded during installation. I'll be the guinea pig.

Re: where can i download "LPR jar utility"
I'm looking for mostly platform portable applications.
Being part of the Kyocera software suite it would be fully installed an listed in the Windows Registry.
That means it most like will not run on a USB stick when used on another machine.
Looks ok from the screen shot.Leave a comment:

Re: where can i download "LPR jar utility"
217 infected files, and it was replicating rapidly. The tricky element to this virus is the UnInstall file further re-infects every time you try to uninstall.
I went by time/date and stopped all process and services that I could not identify. Malwarebytes snagged 217 files, but not the worst ones. Watch for "BrowserHelperSrv. exe" and VT Installer. It creates hundreds of copies of the configuration files found in every Windows program. Again I just deleted every file after a specific date/time all named "configuration. ini". It also had a re-director popping up hundreds of browser windows, and changing all my browser settings.
Four hours of my life wasted chasing a spreading virus. Uggh!
Now my Laptop runs like a feasted-@ss-slug-up-hill-in-a-head-wind....
I most likely will never update to Win10 as I'm informed it has no method to turn off Win Update (wcault.exe)Leave a comment:

Re: where can i download "LPR jar utility"
Thanks CWP. That looks like a fair substitute.
Warning!!! Do not try that LPR Jar download. It's packed with viruses and trojans. I'm still trying to get rid of all the infestations. I've requested Aneurysm remove the link.
It seems like every time I fire up the laptop, it's: Oh crap! I don't have that software any more ...
=^..^=
I download that program last night but I have not installed it yet....
Thanks for the additional virus info....
----updated ---
Sorry it wasn't LPR Jar it was another program.
Thanks for the warning anyway.Leave a comment:

Re: where can i download "LPR jar utility"
BC,
It's a shame LPR.jar was pulled. Here is a utility that seems to work as well. The biggest difference is that it installs in Windows instead of running stand-alone, and it looks at your Windows printers instead of the user typing in the IP address, so you just need to open the printers folder and re-configure one of the printer's ports to point to the IP address you need. I have been using it on Win 7/64 pro without issues.
Copy to Printer - Software Informer. An utility that will send any file directly to any printer Windows knows of.
I like it...
Now I don't have to worry about finishing this module in the iTToolbox program.
Someone has already done it. Nice job by the looks.
I just have to test that it works platform independant from a USB stick,
otherwise it cannot be quick and portable between other PC's...
Thank you....Leave a comment:

GCC Printers seems to be gone.
So I've finally had to break down and get a new laptop. It's Win8.1, and I seem to be taking to it OK, but here's the problem: GCC Printers is no longer out on the web, and the 32-bit version of LPR Jar does not run on the new 64-bit OS.
I know that there are other ways of doing the same thing:
1) The days of the Printable Data link on the webpage seem to be long gone.
2) IC Link seems to be about the best second choice. Historically IC Link has not been 100% successful with communicating.
3) KM Net Viewer and KM Net Admin are a bit large and unwieldy for such a simple task.
4) Command line still works, but requires a loaded/shared driver for the appropriate model.
Has anyone come across a substitute for LPR Jar? I did a little web research and came across a potential substitute: it's intended for loading camera firmware to video devices, and also uses Java directly to an IP, but I don't know if it's using port 9100.
Perhaps somebody downloaded a 64-bit version of LPR Jar?
I may have found it here: LPR JAR UTILITY DOWNLOAD
It's supposed to be compatible with WinXP/Vista/Win7/Win8. Testing tomorrow. =^..^=Leave a comment:
