I'd start by reloading the firmware. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Check the air filters in Front cover and all other vents. This is caused by not cleaning or replacing the mentioned filters.
      Good Luck...

When you see "optimizing performance", the machine is going through a cool down cycle and will return to ready after the machine's internal temperature reaches an acceptable amount (usually appears after a large amount of copying). Sometimes I have seen it take as long as 5-10 minutes for the message to clear but if you turn it off before it finishes it's cool down cycle, most of the time the machine immediately shows the message again on display. As mentioned, make sure your filters are clean. I'd also check to ensure your exhaust fans are operational (especially those near fuser area), fuser thermistors clean and in proper position, and ensure machine has proper clearance around the cabinet so it can breath properly. You do those 4 things and you should be just fine...Good Luck..
