      The service manual for this machine was published in July of 1992.
      That may help.

              A pretty good copier for it\'s time. A huge improvement over the DC-1656 which was NOT a pretty good copier.

                  how about the 1685, the duplexing version of the 1656.

                      all mitas that i have encountered have the manufactured date on the serial number label on rear of machine.
