    KM1650 - Error in connection

I have a KM1650 in the field. Problem i sthat when they scan to email, it intermittantly says error in connection.Gateway, DNS, Subnet is all fine.Address for machine is valid on the smtp server. There is an exclusion for the local IP range. If i scan numerous amounts of pages ranging from 1 to 40, it would go through sometimes and others not.Im upgrading the firmware of the NS30 this morning. from v1.3 to v1.4xIf anyone can help with regards to this, it would be appreciated. This defies all smtp rules

Make sure you use ip addresses & not hostnames.

IP addresses are used to eliminate the DNS part of it.

I have had some of those older machines doing similar things with connection problems and updating firmware on the scan card hepled. I can't remember off hand, exactly how all the menus within the scanner webpage on those older models are configured, but I've had similar things happen with the Falcon 3 series and others. I've found that sometimes setting the "SMTP SERVER TIMEOUT" to a value of "30" (comes defaulted for 10 I believe), allows e-mails to go through sometimes when they otherwise error out. That little bit of extra time to allow for SMTP server connection is sometimes all ya need. Good Luck.

I have also done that. I did set the time out to 120 in simulation U506.

This is such a weird problem. I have actually asked the tech to go replace the card and if the same problem occurs, test it even further by adding a FS1118 to the connection and see what happens.
