A month ago a main Pwb and hard drive was replaced on a Taskalfa 500Ci.Firmware was updated to ver 9 and all was well. Two weeks ago the machine was sold to a customer and soon after the customer said that every so often the machine would display a c0640 error code. I formatted the hard drive and upgraded the firmware to version 10. All was well for about an hour till I left and the customer called saying the code came up again. We now have the machine in the workshop to retrace our steps with the main pwb and hard drive.Another customer had a similar problem but the code came up only when the machine came out of sleep mode. Any suggestions would be helpful. THANKS!!!!!

Have you considered downgrading to 6.03 or 7.01 or 8.01?
As an example, a bunch of my Falcon IIIs stopped receiving facsimilie last month, and it just didn't make sense to me that five separate machines in five separate locations would simultaneously stop receiving. After a little experimenting I discovered that firmware versions 2.41, 2.43, 2.44 were affected. But 2.40 is good, and until they came out with 2.45a I downgraded all my Falcon IIIs. Give it a try. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks blackcat. I had a similar issue with a Falcon III fax system. I'll try the 2.45a firmware. Has it worked well?Comment
