    Km 3530 scan/copy problem

I have a 3530 that ha scan and print installed and the customer tried to hook in scan to his pc and the copier started to print out white pages only but the printer works fine. I removed the cable to the computer from the scan slot and the copier started to print all black copies. I removed the scan board and the scan card and now the copier prints black lines across the whole page. At each step I initiated simulation 906 and that did not help at all. The printer works fine but I am at a loss as to what to do next besides swapping parts. Any help is appreciated.

It sounds to me like you've got a primary charge problem. Replace the primary charge unit.

It's totally unrelated to any attempts at scanning, presence or absence of the scan card. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

If the problem was the primary charge unit then the printer section of the copier would not work and I would have line there too. The reports in simulation come out fine and so do the prints from the pc but only the copier section is giving me lines.

A bad printer nic can cause that....maybe try swapping the memory first

Did you power off the machine before removing the scan card? The scan card should have absolutely nothing to do with making copies, unless you unplugged it hot, and created some sort of logic error.

I am assuming that the exposure lamp lights, the scanner moves in the traditional way, and the mirrors are positioned properly. You might have a bad CCD. You may have a bad Main PWB. You can try re-seating the connectors on the CCD and the Main PWB. =^..^=

I did unplug the machine before removing anything and the exposure lamp comes on and the scanner is moving. The weird thing is the copy changed from all black to lines by removing the scan card. I am going to reset all plugs on main pcb and I have anouther nic card to try as well as the ccd if that does not help. I will let you all know what happens in he end.

Had one like that once and hate to say but it was the main board. You will have to run status pages so you can put your normal settings back in if that's the case.
