    RE: Task Alpha 400ci

    Hey guys,

My customer has a TA400ci. I have scan to folder set up fine. Now my customer wants to be able to edit the scans. Does anyone have a software they recommend and a brief explanation of how it works?? Will any OCR sofware work??

    Thanks in advance.

paperport comes with the machine, that will work. understand that no software will be 100% in scanning accuracy. they will have to double-check every line and word once it is converted.

I think it's up to Paperport 11. It's not the friendliest software but it does work. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

When scanning documents that will be ran through any OCR software, be sure to set the quality setting to text or OCR (if available). You will get better results and will have to do less editing this way.
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

That's it, any decent OCR program should work. I have used Omnipage for a long time and it has always worked well for OCR. it has a great feature set for the price. I also use PDF converter Pro when I need to deal with building PDF files. you can probably get them both for about $250.

here are some links to the ones I talked about:

Nuance Americas Online Store - OmniPage 17

Nuance Americas Online Store - PDF Converter Professional 7
