    [Misc] KM5050 W/ a DF-720

I have a KM5050 W/ a DF-720 installed. The customer called and said that all the paper is coming out into the middle and she can't staple anymore. I went out to take a look and the machine dosen't even know it has it in it. I tried in service mode to turn it back on as I thought it had a problem and the machine shut it down but that wasnt' it. I was pressed for time so i had to go. i'll be going back out today and was wondering if anyone has seen this issue before.

    Thanks

Make sure the plug in the back for the DF-720 is fully plugged in. Sometimes the machines get confused or customer shuts it off without allowing it to spin the HDD down. If that's suspected perform MM917 and backup data, print reports (for IP info), Perform MM021 and MM024 (Memory and HD init.), install firmware, and restore customer data MM917. Re-enter IP address info from Network Status Page. Obviously, do the plug thing first and see what happens.

Simpler yet, just run a U906 partial reset. Often with accessories, the accessory can pull an error, but the customer does not understand, or notice that there is an error. After that the MFP will just ignore the accessory until it's reset. Print the U000 error log to see what codes are stored. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
