[Error Code] Kyocera 400ci C9530 code

This new machine was in the customer's office for a day when they reported gray smoke coming from the back. There was a burned area on the engine board, the machine was dead by that time. I replaced the engine board and moved the eeprom over from the old board according to the service manual instructions. The machine now does a C9530 code.

The service manual rev.6 does not give a cause or corrective action for C9530, it says contact service administrative division. I called Kyocera and they told me to check connectors at the engine board. I keep getting this code which resets and comes back every time about 10 seconds after turning on the main switch with no motor sounds other than fans. I can go into simulation and turn things on but nothing that involves making a copy.

I have tried loading firmware, running sims 21 and 906. I looked at the connectors and reseated them. There is no sign of a shorted load or burning smell now.

Maybe the EPROM got fried too? Maybe there are other PCB's blown up. A few C9... codes are about faulty connections, so I think you have to check all wires/connectors for continuity. Wish you good luck on this one.

I've had a power supply go bad on a Falcon III, and it gave similar symptoms. "CF14F" & "C6000" errors. When C6000 is cleared and powered back up, power supply relays click rapidly, display blinks On/Off. After 30 seconds cf14f occurs. Have you looked to see if any other errors are stored. If there aren't any, I'd try a power supply. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I tried the power supply, main dimm, main board, another engine board, and hard drive.

Still c9530 about the time the screen changes from the Kyocera logo to the ready to copy screen.
This happens every time exactly the same when machine is turned on.

I'd say its about time to waste 45 minutes on the hotline. I must say that I haven't had much success with that, but at least they can tell you what the code means, if they're allowed. =^..^=
