[Jamming] KM5035 bypass jams 3 inches past feed roller

Got a problem with the bypass. It starts to feed then a loud grinding noise is heard then it stops. I thought it could have been a gear mesh problem with the gear on the horizontal paper path section meshing with the feed into the verticle section of the copier. The feed assy making the 90 degree bend up to the drum section was hard removing from the verticle section.
Put another section in, the horizontal transport section is making positive contact with the gears
    but
still, the paper just reaches the 1st set of transport rollers in the horizontal section, a gear grinding noise is heard then it jams.
I have to double check the bypass lift table up/down operation but I took that bypass section apart already to check for binding.
I may need to find another 5035 to compare gear movements in the bypass section
AN ounce of prevention is worth a pound of obscure

The belt for that drive is missing teeth. From the back of the machine it is on the right side and goes toward the middle.

And bring your lunch because dissassembly is required. Just did that yesterday. Note: that can also cause it to quit loading toner as they are connected.
