i have a customer that is sometimes having printing problems, it will print the document out on the page sideways and cut off the bottom, so the cassette was set up Auto/inch and the paper was in portrait and it printed the doc as though it was set to landscape. i was not able to recreate the problem and it only does it every once in a while, so i set the default to letter portrait and i think that will solve the problem, but not positive so i wanted to see if anyone else had to deal with this problem

Usually it's older machines that experience this. Either the tray guides are not set right, or the varistor for tray width has developed poor contact in one specific area. The quick solution is to slide the tray width guides back and forth a half dozen times to scrape off the corrosion, until the correct paper size is displayed on the screen. Maybe you have a highly humid environment? If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
