Hi there.I have a km 5050 jamming from tray2.The customer has been complaining about this fault for the past 2 weeks but every time I called I couldn,t get it to jam until I saw it happen today.I ran 250 copies this morning ok and 1 hour later it was jamming again.I called back and found it jamming coming out of tray 2 getting as far as the next set of feed rollers and no further.I tested the feed clutches in service mode and they are fine. How ever the feed switches for feed 2 and 3 didn,t appear to be working when tested in service mode. There are only 2 paper feed trays on the machine so I swapped the switches after removing the feed section and checking the wiring for breakages. After rebooting I tested the feed 2 switch again in service mode and it registered that it was working but when I flicked the switch a second time it didn,t.Machine still jamming .I am going to upgrade the firmware during the week.Has anyone seen this?

Two things commonly.
First, there is a modification to the switch mounts to extend the actuator a little further out into the paper path. If you order vertical path switches you'll get the new style.
Second, In the lower left door there are two idler shafts with one spring each to provide spring tension on the idler rollers. I install two springs on each shaft, and clean the vertical path rollers. If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The problem with the switches is not that they are not actuating with your finger, the problem is that they are not actuated by paper passing. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
