    Unknown Toner installed

Would u believe the same unknown toner message is appearing again. This time a KM-c4035E was displaying a C7914 error code. According to the manual :
Check the connection of connector YC18 on
the engine PWB and the continuity across
the connector terminals. Repair or replace if
    necessary.
    Defective developing
    PWB Y.
    Replace the developing unit Y

I changed the y developing unit no change, then I reseated the said connection on the engine board and the error code cleared. Now the machine is displaying the following on the status page. What the HELL!!!!!

Check that the destination is still the same in simulation U265. Use 66 for Copystar, 02 for Kyocera. The destination clears to 00 when an U020 All Clear is done.

I've got an even better idea. I did this to myself while changing the engine board on a TASKalfa C500ci, but I think the same principle holds for your situation. The connectors on the engine board were really tight, and I thought for sure I was going to rip a wire out of a connector. It wasn't that though. With all my tugging I had yanked the other end of a little pigtail out of the union connector through the frame, ... to the RFID sensor. I had a hell of a time finding any information on the RFID sensor in any manual. The clue was a tiny "RFID" printed right on the photo of the engine PWB in the manual.

For the CS-C4035E, I'm guessing YC16 or YC30 is the connector you want to check, especially the other end of the pigtail. The RFID sensors are connected through the board where the toner motors are connected.
For the CS-500ci it was YC26.

      Good luck. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
