rotating image

what causes the KM2530;3530;4030 copiers to rotate image when it should not. This happening on at least 3 of these copiers I'm servicing. PF drawers are set with at least one tray 11x8.5 and the other 8.5x11R or 11x17. If original is laid on glass 11x8.5 it scans the original then places copy on paper for 8.5x11R. Only happens when copy is made with placing original on glass. Using feeder copys correctly. I've tried using various settings in user tools as well as simulation U329; Auto Rotate Off which has the copier looking for paper in by-pass; did not have service manual with me.

I would flash up firmware on the unit, had a similar issue with the 3035,4035,5035. Firmware resolved the issue> hope this helps.

I have found in some cases on these models that the ADF open/close switch is hit too early/late and detects small paper size (flag is hit too soon) or 11x17 (flag is hit too late). Firmware should fix, but if you have a brightly lit room keep it in mind.
