    KM 3225 E

Machine was working this am...now no Magenta will print out at all... Added black toner this am but worked after that.......then paused a couple of hours and eveything was yellow and green....ran the gray test and now magenta, screen shots before ,,running magenta only were blank...what the ideas for the cause....haven't had a service contract for a while and mainly work on b/w machine myself so far.

    Thanks for the input

The magenta developing unit is probably seized. If you're incredibly fortunate the two stage gear in the main drive pack is still intact.

If you are mainly a b&w tech this machine will be quite a treat for you. Like many color machines, to get to the magenta developing unit you'll have to remove these items in this order:
Toner cartridges, waste bottle, toner hopper assy (it holds the toner cartridges), open left door, release inner doorstrap, fuser, transfer belt assembly, magenta developing unit. If you can't turn it by hand, the machine can't turn it either.

If you've never done this before, I strongly suggest you get a service manual. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Pulled out the developing units and the magenta turns as easily as the other colors...

probably have a broken gear or housing in the back of the machine, check the MPF drive assembly on the back left side first

I would hope that the broken gear is on the back of the developing unit. Or perhaps you've got a problem drive coupler. Removing the drive assembly is downright unpleasant. =^..^=

Idling colour developers are not healthy developers.
