[Misc] Delay in printing from PC

We have a KM-5050 that is slow in printing from PC's. We will send a job to the copier and it will take up to 30 minutes to print out. When we look at the job statuts, it doesn't show up (it as if it went into hyperspace)...30 minutes later it prints out. This problem is also intermitten, it doesn't happen on every job.

Any ideas what this could be?

    Thanks.

Just a few questions to get the ball rolling on this one...

    >Is it a specific document/file type you're trying to Print which exhibits this issue?
    >Are the Printer Drivers/Firmware up to date on the machine?
    >Are you printing through a Print Server or Directly from your PC to the machine?

It seems to happen on all types of documents (word, Adobe and internet files). We have the latest Firmware installed, but we are going to reinstall it again...just to make sure. The copier is in a Real Estate office with about 75 users and is on network server.

      Thanks for you help!

        Hi Ferdy,

Is there anyway to connect the KM-5050 directly to a Computer/Laptop and try printing? This way you can eliminate the Print Server from your diagnostics.

I can...but the problem doesn't happen every time. I can print from one of the PC now and it works, go to another PC and it doesn't? Would connecting it to a Laptop eliminate the Print Server if the problem is intermitten?

          Thanks!

There could be differences in the set-up of the PC's. - You could always try adding the Driver manually on various PCs and point it to the Printer's IP Address, that would bypass the Print Server (But local policies may prevent you from doing this)

I found this thread which may be of some help relating to Reaction time of these machines. Although it doesn't seem to be as bad as you described. There seems to be a couple of tricks on here you could try?

Let me know how you get on, I'll keep doing some research for you.

also check the pdl on the driver and the emulation on the copier side.

Hi,we similar issues with c2525e, tech support instructed us to check driver setting, properties, device settings, pdl, kpdl, then make sure "allow data passthrough" is unchecked. Not sure if your problem is related but its worth a shot it certainly solved a few issues for us.

We switched the port today and the problem is still present? We have a Toshiba next to the Kyocera and switched lines, and the Toshiba worked but not the Kyocera. I'm not sure how to check the printer setting, can you give me instructions on how to check? We will probably replace the unit on Friday if we can't get it fixed.

Thank you everyone for your help and advice. I very much appreciate it!
