    booklet making- copystar cs400ci

Can anybody help me resolve this issue... I am having major headache problem with trying to tell kyocera to do a booklet

it does NOT print the way i want it no matter how i configure on the kyocera driver..

I was trying to do 11x17 folded saddle stitched into 8.5x11 from a PDF file that already have 8 sheets ......

it keeps printing 4 pages into one side??? how the heck can I fix this... the dealer that I bought it from spent hours and hours and he dont know how? Im about to tell the dealer to take it and shove it out of my store...

What size format is the original electronic document?

Booklet mode is designed for use with single portrait originals. For example, if your original document is laid out 11 x 17 landscape, displaying two pages (or "two-up"), it will treat the 11 x 17 page as a single ledger sized original, rotate it to portrait, showing two sideways pages on each printed page. This is a layout problem, not a problem with the operation of booklet mode. This layout is intended for use on printers that duplex only (no booklet mode). Proper layout for booklet mode is one document per page.

What application are you using, and what version of the print driver? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You don't. You lay out the document into single pages. =^..^=

You mean printing blanks onto previously printed pages? You may get some wrinkling, or smudging at the leading edge during pickup ... but it will work. =^..^=

so theres NO way to use booklet if layout already there directly from computer other than printing 11x17 and then do it on the machine itself??

I'll repeat. Booklet mode is designed for one-up originals. Please feel free to write your own print driver to that will re-lay out a PDF from two-up to one-up, then print booklets.

In the meantime, you have two options.
                  Fix the original layout.
                  Or write your own driver.

Personally I think you'll have more luck with the former.
Feel free to complain if it makes you feel better. =^..^=

ummhmmmm... i see a problem with Kyocera's driver because they did not even think of possibility a centerfold layout like many booklets do! I have been doing 11x17 layouts on adobe illustrators for year so i can do cover layout and centerfold layouts...

Why cant Kyocera driver's do that, For years I have been submittin to contract services without a problem, and now I just got the booklet maker so i can do it myself.. and guess what couple thousand dollars out in the hole???

You have the software? You are one up on me.

Many times I have been handed over two-up artwork, and do not have the software to fix it.
Congratulations on having the correct software to solve this problem. =^..^=
