I guess the next question is, since the machine comes maxed out with 2GB of DIMM, and a 160GB HDD, most likely it's the fax memory that's running low. The fax default is 12MB, of which you can add 128MB, for a total of 140MB.
Do you have a lot of document boxes set up? I suppose it's possible that you've filled up the HDD. There is a function that can be set up to erase documents in these boxes after a prescribed time period, to prevent the boxes from filling up with old docs.
Do you get this display when scanning to email? Maybe you've got an arbitrarily low email attachment limit, or the default scanner settings are generating excessively large scan files. Take a look at the attachment size and the scan defaults. Color and high resolution scans can drive up the file size. Typical settings?: 20MB attachment size, B&W, 300dpi, Text, PDF.
So what are you doing when you see the "memory" message? =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
