The chance of firmware fixing this is slim, in my opinion.

Fax firmware is loaded via compact flash card. There's a CF port under the upper right hand cover for machine firmware and fax firmware. If you've got a print system installed there will be a second CF port for print card firmware only.

You download the firmware from KMAConnect
It is not necessary to format the CF card beforehand. Unpack the firmware and copy the files to the root drive of the CF card.
Turn main power switch (on the right hand side of the machine) Off and unplug the power cord.
Insert the CF card into the CF port under the upper right hand cover.
While pressing & holding the Copier button, Plug in power cord. Power On. Continue holding Copier button until "Please Wait" is displayed.
    Enter Service Mode > U926 > Execute > Start.
When the firmware is finished it will display Program: Execute 0100, Checksum xxxx, Code yyyy. Font: Execute 0100, Checksum xxxx, Code yyyy.
Code 0000 = success, Code 0203 = no data present on CF card. Exit service mode.
Turn main power switch (on the right hand side of the machine) Off and unplug the power cord.
    Remove the CF card.
Plug in power cord. Power On.
Enter Service Mode > U019 to check that the fax firmware has been updated. Exit Service Mode.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
