[Jamming] why does chickan cross ze street? (DP duplex jam)

    spring.jpg

To reset this little spring on the DP of a TA420i.

    page 14, item 48. DP750~~~ parts manual.

Original problem: jam in DP while duplexing, on second side only.

For whatever reason it came loose, there was no way to restring it back to the way it was as there was a extra loop of slack.(and I didnt know which way it was facing...)

    Full disassemble, NO.

It was a pull-bend-cut job on the existing spring. The flap needed to be pulled to the centre, and the custom job did so.

If you have clients that duplex tons, know this spring! Its small, but it will(had) kick(kicked) you(my) arse.

Disclaimer: This is a temp fix, proper spring will be installed later on.

I've worked on this DP before, but cannot figure out where this would be. There is no figure 14- item 48. There is no page 14- item 48.
Can you identify this spring? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I was trying to encourage manual reading lol...anyways...

"Spring Shift Guide" of the duplex section on a DP750/760. (303LL29210)

lift up the top panel, and then the green tab, right down there is a flap pointing up. The spring is at the back.
