the collars on either end would crack and leave wierd toner lines down the pages and it was so bad that they updated them by sending eveyone new DV units. Then they came out with a new machine with the updated DV units as one of thier updates.

The developing units are coded on the CRUM chip with serial number and color. The machine will know it's not supposed to have the magenta developing unit in the black slot or vice versa. You'll have to have a magenta developing unit for the magenta slot or it will code. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
