    Kyocera KM2050 - Scanner

Hi members I have a KM-2050 which has a scanner attached.
It is working ok, however we need to add another destination folder, Updated the File Utility but the web interface of the scanner wants a password.
I have tried admin and pass, admin and admin, admin and 2050 and so on but no luck.

What is a default logon for the scanner, or is their a way to default.

I rang Kyocera and the tech asked me to turn on the SMTP authentication on the printer command centre but that done nothing.

There also fresh out of ideas.

Is their any utilities or default procedures for these things?

    thank in advance

I don't believe there is a default password for the web interface on those. Someone must have set one. Is this a refurb machine? Hopefully someone at your company set the password. If not, U504 will set all your scanner settings back to default. You'll want to make sure you have all your current settings printed out, though!

      Like he said.
I strongly discourage the local IT rep from changing default passwords. Inevitably I get one of those calls:

" ... and I can't remember what I set the password to. Is there a default password?"
"Yep. And you changed it." =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        U504 Procedure

Hi Gents, Care to elaborate on the U504 Procedure?

I rang tech support again today and they said its coming from the network.

The guy who setup the scanner originally was clueless so I dare say he is the responsible party.

I opened up the back and there are no reset buttons on the card but there is a jumper.

There isn't much to elaborate on. No need to use any physical jumpers. just enter maintenance mode, go to sim 504, press start, select "execute", and press start again. Magically, all of your hard work setting up the scanner disappears! So, if possible, make sure that you write down any network settings that you still have access to before you do this. It will save you some time. Unfortunately, you probably won't be able to access the destination information for the different scan locations.

Yep. Count on losing the SMTP, IP address, Scan sender information, & Scan destinations.

Hi Members, Still have no access to Defaulting the Scanner Card. Can anyone share an installation manual or instructions on how to default the Card?

Have you purchased a service manual? I'm sure Paul has one at www.justmanuals.com

No I Didn't, I thought perhaps a Kind member would provide some destruction's.
I know how to get into setup but cant find the U504, so is there a procedure to get into an advanced maintenance mode.
I found the PDF for the Copier/Scanner but no where does it show how to get into this mode.

If it is that secret that it cannot be posted on a forum would a member with experience kindly PM me the details on how to get it defaulted. I would be eternally grateful.
