    [Error Code] Bypass error codes

    Hey guys,

Does anyone know of a way to bypass error codes to get into maintenance mode on let's say a TASKalfa 500ci series? The code is F040 in case it makes a difference...
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

    Oooo! This will be bad.

F040 is an Engine communication error. Since the Code DIMM is on the Engine Board, you'll have to resolve the communication issue first.

If you can get it to take firmware, I'd try that first.
If no, I'd replace the Code DIMM and try again.
If no, then the Engine PWB also, then firmware.

Could a low segment engine PWB have been installed in a high segment machine?
It's not going to be cheap. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That's what I was afraid of. I've been trying to get engine firmware to take (several different versions) with no luck. I wasn't necessarily trying to fix this machine (odd as that may sound) I just wanted to get into maintenance mode so I could record some information.
